The process of entering the palace is... smooth. Painless.

You are falling, but it's not scary at the speed you're going. You drop through the pre-dawn sky like a feather, light and easy on a breeze, descending towards a bright and multicolored island in a sea of dark trees.

When you land, you are somewhere new.

[Floyd seems pretty pleased by the hustle and bustle in the streets.

But he's even more pleased by one specific thing:

He finds himself hovering a food stand.]

This one is selling... idk let's say cotton candy and soda. A little kid with fluffy red wings is STARING LONGINGLY at the snacks, but is ignored by the customer service associate, who focuses on Floyd with a big smile.

"How can I help you?"

[He looks at the kid, a little like ???

And then he looks at the customer service associate.]

I would like a strawberry flavored cotton candy, a cherry flavored cotton candy, red raspberry, blue raspberry, fruit punch, orange, peach, lemon, banana, lime, green apple, red apple, blueberry, grape, watermelon, passionfruit, vanilla, birthday cake, mango, kiwi, and the rainbow one.

I would also like a c*ca cola, dr p*pper, f*nta orange and strawberry and grape and pineapple, a cream soda, root beer, spr*te, m*untain dew, lemonade, fruit punch, and water.

They get to work producing TRULY A STAGGERING AMOUNT OF FOOD AND DRINKS. JUST ABSURD AMOUNTS OF CANDY AND SODA.

"Would you like a tray, sir?"

Just bring it to where I'm sitting.

[And he's gonna go find a table to sit, staring at the bird boy while he's waiting.]

It takes a little while before they bring like... an enormous tray over. It's like the size of the table.

The bird boy is now staring at YOUR snacks with open awe.

Cotton candy is really great, isn't it? It's a food that only land dwellers can eat because they immediately disappear once it touches the water, almost as if it's protected by magic. You can eat and eat and eat and you never get full~

If you take too long, it melts in your mouth, but if you eat quickly, you can almost get the sensation of something that you can bite in, it's a lot of fun to eat~

You know, Parrotfish-chan?

"I haven't tried it... is it your favorite?"

My favorite changes pretty often, yesterday it was pancakes, and right now it is cotton candy. I think maybe corndogs will be my new favorite in a few hours.

You don't want any?

"Can I have some?"

Hmmm. They won't give you any?

"It's for guests..."

[He goes back over to the foodstand.

And the bird child will not be able to hear what is being said. But the intimidating aura that surrounds Floyd as he speaks with the "kindest" smile you can imagine . . . it's a lot. Even bird child can feel it from where he's standing.

It might be possible that he's having a discussion on what it means to be a "guest" and who should be allowed to try very delicious snacks.]

So here's an interesting thing that happens. The attendant is perfectly polite and cooperative with the ultimate perfect customer service smile. They don't disagree or talk back and agree readily to literally everything that's said!

But none of it seems to sink in? It's like he's talking to a chatbot.

[This is annoying.

He'll just order ten of everything.]

"Of course! Would you like a tray?"

They produce... ten of everything. There is truly a preposterous amount of candy and soda here now.

Please bring it to the table, thanks~

"Of course!"

The little booth like spawns four more people to carry it all. The little kid is like 8O!!! about it.

[Grins.]

There you go~

"Thanks so much!! It's really okay to try?"

Yep~

But in exchange, you’ll have to take me to all of the food places here, okay~?

"I can do that... I know where all the good ones are."
