HAWKS PALACE

The process of entering the palace is... smooth. Painless.

You are falling, but it's not scary at the speed you're going. You drop through the pre-dawn sky like a feather, light and easy on a breeze, descending towards a bright and multicolored island in a sea of dark trees.

When you land, you are somewhere new.

"I don't know what that is."

Mounting. We take this elephant as our mount and ride. We will be as jungle kings, upon the back of a great big pachyderm.

"Oh. I think you can ride them and it's allowed."

Awesome. Time to commandeer! It's commandeer time.

[ do they have fishing poles. Or sticks with twine upon which he can tie a peanut. ]

There are definitely not fishing poles in the zoo, but he can probably jury-rig something together for peanut dangling without much effort.

[ he rigs that up and puts that in his inventory for elephant directing once he gets on the elephant. Looks up at the great creature and then down at the kid ]

Can you fly, or do you need a boost?

"I can't fly yet."

Okay. On my back then.

[ Bends down so he can climb up for a piggy back. ]

He scrambles right on up there. He weighs roughly nothing so it's pretty easy to carry him!

[ Wilbur has been a single father, so he's double got this.

TIME TO SCALE AN ELEPHANT ]

So as he GETS ON THE ELEPHANT there's no real resistance from the animal, but a sort of feeling of vertigo and for a moment there's - strange sensations? Like a montage of memory? For a moment he feels like someone else, and -

You're walking on the street and you can barely get four paces without being surrounded by crowds. They want photos, they want autographs, they want to touch your wings, they want to know more about you, about your life, about your hobbies and hey what kind of girl do you like? and people are giving you advice on what you SHOULD have done when you were in this or that crime and people are furious at you for your role in this major arrest or that minor misstep and you smile and nod because this is what you're here for, for these people. Someone pets your wings and a child yanks at a feather and you don't react because you're here for these people, and when your agents tell you where to go and what to say and how to dress and dozens of hands poke and prod and apply makeup and move your limbs and head and tell you how to look and why you just do it, because this is what you're here for, you are here for these people -

-- But then the feeling fades and you are just riding an elephant and it's sweet as hell. The little kid on your shoulders gives you a headpat like he knows something fucked up just happened.

Also, there's a red feather in your inventory...?

[ Wilbur Soot briefly feels a flash of another life. Another life, if that life were made entirely of Twitchcon and his politics career and also a petting zoo. But he's got a kid on his shoulders, so he tilts his head back to look up and grins ]

We're taking this elephant to a better life. We're the best fucking thing that ever happened to this elephant.

[ Time to produce his make-shift peanut fishing rod. Come on Elephant, time to blow this joint.

The elephant seems pretty happy to go wherever it's directed! WHERE IS WILBUR HIJACKING THIS ELEPHANT TO!

[ rides and museums both seem like equally bad places for elephants. ]
