HAWKS PALACE

The process of entering the palace is... smooth. Painless.

You are falling, but it's not scary at the speed you're going. You drop through the pre-dawn sky like a feather, light and easy on a breeze, descending towards a bright and multicolored island in a sea of dark trees.

When you land, you are somewhere new.

[Carefully reaching out to move the bird back to it's perch]

I think you deserve another snack, don't you?

He fluffs up happily. The bird heads over and eats some corn with idk a pack of tigers.

"We should get a couple, to bring with us. I think there's a key to that building somewhere..."

Then let's get our snack and look for that key, hmm?

"I think maybe an animal has it? Or maybe one of the zookeeper people. Or maybe it's just sitting around."

Only one way to find out. Want to pick out snacks while I look around?

"Okay. What kinds do you like?"

...fried things. If there are any. Though anything bad for me is fine. Just...nothing healthy?

[Reaching out to pet a zebra he comes across]

He nods and scurries off. He's definitely coming back with fried cheesecake or something.

The zebra seems to like the petting.

It has a feather stuck in its mane?

[Carefully plucking that one out of its mane and pocketing it gently.]

As expected, the feather has a memory. Though it's more like a collage of memories- You're walking on the street and you can barely get four paces without being surrounded by crowds (loud crowds of people). They want photos, they want autographs, they want to touch your wings, they want to know more about you, about your life, about your hobbies and hey what kind of girl do you like? and people are giving you advice on what you SHOULD have done when you were in this or that crime and people are furious at you for your role in this major arrest or that minor misstep (they're so loud. you can hear them breathe. you can hear their heartbeats) and you smile and nod because this is what you're here for, for these people. Someone pets your wings and a child yanks at a feather and you don't react because you're here for these people, you smile and nod when people grab your arms or leap on you for hugs or scream out of excitement right by your ears (it's so LOUD), because this is what you're here for, you are here for these people -

Then it's over as fast as it started. The zebra gives him a comforting nudge.

[Frowns more, petting the zebra briefly before looking for anyone that looks like staff]

There's a few pretty generic people dressed in the sort of coveralls you might expect of zookeepers about! At least one of them has a visible ring of keys.

Excuse me, sir?

"Yes? How can I help you?"

I'm a little embarrassed...Would you mind helping me with some directions? I think I lost something in the museum, but I'm not quite sure how to get back to there from here? Do you have a park map, by chance?

"Of course! I can go get one for you."

He puts down the penguin he was holding to go get a ~PAMPHLET~.

[Walking along side him, leaning in to look at the pamphlet with him....while an extra arm sneaks out behind them to snag any keys]

+1 keys get! There's also a number of red feathers hanging from the key ring but they probably just have memories in them.

"Of course, it's no problem at all! Anything else I can do for you?"

[Carefully snagging the feathers too]

[Time to make his way back to the baby]

Predictably they are full of memories. There's fan photoshoots and modeling gigs and advertising campaigns and publicity campaigns and charity work and Mandatory Medical Inspections and all of them are full of being poked and prodded and messed with and they are all very invasive and annoying.

LUCKILY, a baby is waiting for him with many snacks, almost all of which are fried and in cutesy animal themes. Baby pulls through.

[Crouches down and opens his mouth]

Ahh!

"Aah!"

He pops a fried mini chocolate bar in your mouth.
