The process of entering the palace is... smooth. Painless.


You are falling, but it's not scary at the speed you're going. You drop through the pre-dawn sky like a feather, light and easy on a breeze, descending towards a bright and multicolored island in a sea of dark trees.

When you land, you are somewhere new.

I don't think it's the same thing. . . it's more that he's lost, and we're all worried about him. We want to make him un-lost.

There's no bird with red wings in this forest.

A peep lands on his head. It's warm but not burning.

That's what the bird on fire said. . . I believed them, but I wanted to see for myself.

All right. Then I suppose we should head back to the amusement park.

[well then! with his brief adventure in the forest concluded, Akira makes his way back to the amusement park ticket booth]

The bird on top of the booth can't make a face at your new friends but you can SENSE the face he is making.

They are small and embarrassing and not at all majestic. Someday they will grow, and then they can claim a spot of great honor in the forest.

[ANYWAY, now he will approach the ticket counter]

Can I get a ticket, please? One for me and many for my peeping friends.

The perfectly generic human hands over an admission ticket and a receipt (the fact that no money was exchanged doesn't seem to factor into this at all) as well as a park map with little blurbs of key attractions.

They do not seem to notice your many friends.

"Have a heroically good time at Hero Land!"

[time to examine the map, tilting it slightly so the bird embers can see it]

The key attractions on the map seem to be a museum, rides, and a zoo-type area. The map has a few weird ink blotches on it in the spaces beyond those areas - either a stylistic choice or something that's been censored out?

[hmmmm. . . suspicious. he makes note of those blotches and reminds himself to try and reach them from the main attraction area, if he can]

That sounds like a vote for the zoo. Come on, then.
