HAWKS PALACE

The process of entering the palace is... smooth. Painless.


You are falling, but it's not scary at the speed you're going. You drop through the pre-dawn sky like a feather, light and easy on a breeze, descending towards a bright and multicolored island in a sea of dark trees.

When you land, you are somewhere new.

In this memory, you're much younger. Maybe five or six. You're sitting at a table in a dimly lit underground room, and on that table is a puzzle. Your hands are in oven mitts. Two people in suits are monitoring this test - it's not easy for you to exercise this level of delicate control, but with some effort you can put this puzzle together.

These games are almost definitely grifts, but gamerunners HAPPILY WAVE YOU OVER with promises of FABULOUS PRIZES!!

The darts game has little red darts shaped like feathers because of course it does.

It is HARD but with enough determination you can win the BIG PRIZE!!!

The last dart is also a memory! It's short and sweet; you're very young, in the same place, practising the speed and accuracy with which you can launch your feathers. You practice over, and over, and over, and over...

It doesn't look like there's any more feathers around, but there are some more rides! Plus some seedier looking buildings that might be maintenance access or something.
