In this one, a plane's engine fails midflight and it starts just like dropping out of the air. Hawks is called in after the plane has already started to break apart and the people in it are falling.
He reacts right away and just takes TO THE AIR, shooting up way higher than humans are supposed to go (his jacket is buttoned up. it's fine) alongside a few other heroes who can fly - but he's so much faster than any of them, flies higher, gets there first. There are about a hundred people falling and he shoots around, sending feathers out in every direction while dodging bits of DEBRIS with increasingly worse mobility. He catches everyone with feathers, without a single casualty.
And then he starts dropping from the sky himself, because he used up all his feathers.
The altitude is VERY high and so he has a LOT of time while falling to do some internal math. His feathers (and the civilians they're carrying) zip around at high speeds, depositing people into the arms of other, slower flying heroes who carry them back down to the ground. The feathers rejoin his wings and he spreads them, flaps, and catches himself about a dozen feet from the ground.
When he lands there's just like a WILD CHORUS OF CHEERING PEOPLE, both the people he saved and people watching from the ground, and he practically gets mobbed by them.
